Title of Project: Entrepreneurship opportunities & threats at District-Singrauli of State-Madhya Pradesh
Rationale for the study:
The entrepreneur always searches for change, responds to it, and exploits it as an opportunity.

Entrepreneurship is very important for socio- economic development of any country. We are also aware of this fact that government & private sector can not give 100% employment. Thus it becomes very important for youths to take initiative to establish entrepreneurship. This will not only give employment to him, but also to few others from locality. Entrepreneurship is going to give more self satisfaction to individual from their entrepreneurship venture. Further entrepreneurship has huge potential for employment generation. This will add growth to our GDP & economy. Entrepreneurship will channelize youth energy towards constructive economic activities. Thus it is very much clear that entrepreneurship is beneficial for individual as well as for society.
I want to develop Singrauli into another Singapore.

Now we see that District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh is attracting huge investment from large companies like
NTPC Ltd., Reliance Power Ltd., Essar Power Ltd., Hindalco Industries, Northern Coal Field Ltd., Dainik Bhaskar Power Ltd. and JP power etc. There is about 100000 carore plus investment under progress at District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh. District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh is called energy capital of India. District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh is rich in coal mines resources. It is situated near to Rihand Sagar dam. All these make District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh prefect place for coal based thermal power generation. Further Hindalco Aluminium factory Renukoot, JP Cement Rewa/Satna, Anpara thermal power plant Anpara etc. are nearby District Singrauli only. Thus we find that District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh is industrializing at very fast pace. In near future, it may become top industrial district of Madhya Pradesh.
A platform has been provided for entrepreneurs to set up entrepreneurship at District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh. In first instance, we find that there is great opportunity available along with existing companies. There is scope of providing various inputs like plant spares, Operation & Maintenance service contract, consultancy etc. Output of power plant like ash, various scrap etc. are also having huge business potential. Besides plant we find that employed professionals & their family can be large consumer for various services like theater, educational/professional institute, restaurant, shopping mall, hospital, investment & tax saving consultancy, automobile service center etc. There is also growing market of consumer goods, vegetables, fruits, milk, grocery, cloth, footwear etc. Educated unemployed persons can be part of entrepreneurial ventures.
Objectives of the study: Objectives of the Project is to
- i) Study of fundamentals of entrepreneurship
- ii) Study of District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh resources available, socio-economic status, etc.
iii) Study of entrepreneurship opportunities
- iv) Study of entrepreneurship threats
- v) Guidelines for entrepreneurship establishment at District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh
Research Methodology: All the information regarding fundamental of entrepreneurship is collected from IGNOU MS-93 Management of new and small enterprises, websites etc. Information and data regarding entrepreneurship opportunities & threats is collected from people working in various companies like NTPC Ltd., Reliance Power Ltd., Essar Power Ltd., Hindalco Industries, JP Power etc; People of the area; Madhya Pradesh state government website etc. Thus we have used primary & secondary sources both.
The following tools have been used:
1) Questionnaire forms to explore entrepreneurship opportunities and threats
2) Interacting with companies officials for exploring opportunities for ancillaries units of major companies
3) Interacting with people with skill/education to explore their employability in various entrepreneurship venture
4) Data analysis
5) Various opportunities will be analyzed through SWOT
6) Business plan for entrepreneurship opportunities
7) Roadmap for entrepreneurship establishment at District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh
Questionnaire intended to assess the entrepreneurship opportunities and threats at District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh. Prepared questionnaire was pre-tested to sample peoples whether they are clearly understood or not. Then, prepared questionnaire was finalized before serving them to the people.
Expected contribution from Study: The Project will help entrepreneurship establishment at District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh. This will have opportunities and threats detail in entrepreneurship establishment at District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh. This will also help in balance growth of District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh. This will be excellent guide for budding entrepreneurs. Finance options/Venture capitalist options have been also given in project report.
Limitations: There are various dynamic factors to affect entrepreneurship establishment at District Singrauli of State Madhya Pradesh. Like changing government polices, Resettlement & Rehabilitation conflicts, changing environmental norms, local law and order issues etc. All this can influence our study.
